Elks crown Hoop Shoot champs

by nathan oster

The local round of the Elks Hoop Shoot produced decisive victories in all six age classifications.

While shootouts were needed to settle some of the battles for second and third, things were far more clear cut in the pursuit of the top prizes.  In five of the six divisions, the margin of victory between first and second was more than two shots.

The winners, who earned the right to advance to the next round, included Noah Zeller and Shaylah Cheatham in the 8- and 9-year-old divisions; Braden Tracy and Skyler Wrage in the 10- and 11-year-old divisions; and Dawson Forcella and Jordan Flitner in the 12- and 13-year-old division.

The six local winners will advance to the district Hoop Shoot scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. in Worland.
