MCT brings ‘Aladin’ to GHS stage

Aladdin, Sinbad, Ali Baba, and Scheherazade, all well-known figures from the “Arabian Nights,” will be on stage at the Greybull High School auditorium Saturday, March 8 when the Missoula Children’s Theatre tour presents its version of “Aladdin.”

The cast includes Skylar Jackson as Aladdin and Aspen Cross as Aladdin’s mother.

Princess Dory will be played by Jessie Kysar; Sultan, by Katie  Bame; the Grand Vizier, Jordan Nelson; Keeper of the Book of Answers, Joslyn Alonzo; Scheherazde, Austyn Sheets; Mysterious One, Serenity Kinswoman; Genies, Cassie Fitzsimmons, Mallory Brown, Madelynne Shelley; stubborn donkey, Emery Terry; spunky goat, Grace Sanford; scheming Cassim, Jazmyne Collingwood; Ali Baba, Lindsey Mills; Sinbad, Benjamin Shelley; and Sinbad’s sailors, Brendan Gross, Joshua Lopez and Christian Nelson.

Lots of wise-cracking palm trees, fleet-footed camels, vagabonds and a pack of lost penguins complete the 50-member cast.

According to the release, “Aladdin is a swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian tales ranging from Ali Baba to Scheherazade to Sinbad the Sailor.”

Performances are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets at the door cost $3 for children, $5 for adults, or $10 total for all members of an immediate family (parents and children).

“Aladdin” is presented locally by the Greybull Art Council and Big Horn County School District No. 3’s BOCES agreement with Northwest College.
