The Worland Warriors placed third at their own eight-team swimming and diving invitational on Saturday, once again thanks in large part to the contributions of their five imports from Greybull High School.
Of the five, Kristen Collingwood was the only one who tasted victory, as she swam the second leg on Worland’s 200-yard freestyle relay team, which finished in 1:50.22. Other members of that team include Megan Molitor, Saydria Russell and Carolyn Kennedy.
Collingwood also added a third in the 100-yard butterfly (in a personal-best 1:09.03), a sixth in the 100 backstroke (a 1:10.37, also a personal best) and a third swimming as a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay (4:08.09).
Brianna Jolley cut more than three seconds in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing 10th in a time of 2:24.14. She nearly did the same in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing 12th in 1:15.89, which was just a shade under three seconds faster than her seed time.
Jolley and Elizabeth Dietrich also contributed team points as members of the 200-yard medley relay team, which placed fifth in 2:18.22.
While their finishes didn’t contribute to the Warriors’ team score, Dietrich posted a personal best 1:28.15 in the 100 butterfly and Felicia Aguilar swam a personal best 1:18.36 in the 100 backstroke.
Powell won the meet with 283 points, followed by Lander with 225, Worland 181.5, Rawlins 154, Douglas 145, Cody 144, Newcastle 122 and Buffalo 77.5.
