Funeral services for former Greybull resident Ruth Adam Bright were held Oct. 9, at Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren Church in Rolette, N.D. Ruth, 76, died Oct. 5 at the Rolette Community Care Center.
She was born June 30, 1938, at Devil’s Lake, N.D., the daughter of Rev. Thomas and Lillian Anderson Adam. Ruth received her education in Greybull and graduated from Greybull High School in 1956. She attended the Abbott School of Nursing in Minnesota where she graduated as a registered nurse. She began her nursing career working at South Big Horn County Hospital.
She married Arnie Bright on Sept. 22, 1962, in Greybull. The couple lived in Greybull where Ruth continued working at the hospital until 1966, when they moved to Rolette.
Ruth worked at the Rolette Community Hospital. When the hospital became the Community Care Center, she continued sharing her nursing skills there. She also held the position as MDS coordinator. She retired in 2007.
Ruth enjoyed quilting, crocheting and baking and shared her creations with everyone; collected angels and nativity scenes, and was an avid Vikings fan. She loved her grandchildren and treasured time spent with them.
She was a member of the Rolette Presbyterian Church, and later the St. John Presbyterian Church.
Her husband Arnie preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2014.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ron and Julie Bright Stromswold of Audubon, Pa., and Jeff and Kathy Bright Morrow of Wolford, N.D.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Buck and Janet Adam Leonard of Green River and Dayle and Barbara Adam Anderson of Hamilton, Mont.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Geneva Baird of Thermopolis and Frank Phillips of Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
