A graveside funeral service for Carl Earl Kaiser was held Nov. 19 at Mount View Cemetery in Basin. Carl, 75, died Nov. 14 at South Big Horn County Critical Access Hospital.
Carl was born July 16, 1939, in Arcadia, Ind., the son of Donald C. and Nellie O. Lowe Kaiser. He received his schooling in Atlanta, Ind., but had to quit before graduating from high school so he could work to help supplement his family’s income.
Carl married Diane Joy Norton June 9, 1968, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cicero, Ind.
Carl served in the U.S. Marine Reserves.
In his early years, Carl hung drywall. Carl and Diane moved to Basin in 1979 where he went to work at Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home as a CNA.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Diane on May 27, 2007; his son Chris Neil Kaiser, and four brothers, Jack, Bill, Keith and Johnny;
He is survived by his adopted son Destry W. Stevens and his fiancé Sarah E. Valdez and children, Shawn, Tayla, Jean, Caydence and Xavier; daughter and son-in-law, Miguel Jr. and Judith Ann Kaiser Torralba and their children, Melissa N. Purtee and Christina Joy Medrano; one brother, James Kaiser of Arcadia, and five great-grandsons.
