A Funeral Mass for Ricardo De Niz Vazquez will be held Friday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Worland. Prior to the mass a viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. at Atwood Family Chapel in Basin. Ricardo, 21, of Manderson, died Dec. 4 at South Big Horn Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident.
Ricardo was born Sept. 2, 1993, in Tepatitlan de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Ruperto De Niz Avalos and Esperanza Vazquez. He received his schooling in Manderson and Basin and graduated from Riverside High School. He participated in sports, both in middle and high school. Football was his favorite. He loved to hunt, being out in the middle of nowhere driving around with his friends, and most of all, taking care of his little brother, Oz.
Ricardo always had a twinkle in his eyes and a mischievous smile. To him, personal space didn’t exist.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marta Martin, and his paternal grandfather, Albino De Niz.
Ricardo is survived by his parents; two brothers, Eddie De Niz and Osvaldo “Oz” De Niz; two sisters, Maritza De Niz and Valeria De Niz; his maternal grandfather Pedro Vazquez and his paternal grandmother, Ma Refugio Avalos all of Mexico.
