Collingwoods, Murdochs share lighting contest victory

The Scott and Ronna Collingwood residence in the Heights and the Paul and Claudine Murdoch home on Sixth Avenue North were the cream of the crop in this year’s Greybull Area Chamber of Commerce holiday home lighting contest.

The Collingwoods, 2435 Spur Road, and Murdochs, 232 Sixth Ave. N., finished with an identical number of points from the four judges who canvassed the town on the nights of Wednesday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 20. As co-champions, they will split the first- and second-place prize money.

Finishing in third place was another perennial contender, the home of Ron and Elaine Huff at 424 S. Third St.

Rounding out the top five were the Ray and Maria Schwartz residence (25 N. Third St.), in fourth place, and the Dixon and Mary Beth Lunt residence (517 Second Ave. N.), in fifth place. Rather than cash, the Schwartzes and Lunts will receive turkeys donated by Ron’s Food Farm.
