A memorial service for Ella Jane “EJ” Ingersoll will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. at Eagles Aerie 3086 in Basin. EJ, 80, died Feb. 2 at her home in Basin.
She was born May 31, 1934, in Belleville, Republic County, Kan., the daughter of Charles Hobart and Grace Barbara Williams West. She began her schooling in a one-room school in Rydal, Kan., and graduated from El Paso (Texas) High School.
She married Don Arthur Ingersoll April 13, 1953, in El Paso and lived there a number of years. EJ moved to Wyoming in 1994.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her greatest enjoyment was driving truck.
Her husband Don Arthur Ingersoll, two sons, Matt Ingersoll and Mark Ingersoll, and two sisters, Ruth Barbara Valarde and Mary Ellen Baker, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Harris of Basin; son Mike Ingersoll of Plummer, Idaho, one sister, Eva Louis Foster of Aurora, Colo., and 16 grandchildren.
