A military graveside service for Robert Charles Hylla II of Greybull will be held Friday, Feb. 20, at the Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery in Fort Harrison, Mont. at 3 p.m. Robert, 37, died Feb. 6 at Greybull.
He was born Dec. 19, 1977, in Lakenheath, England, the son of Robert Charles Hylla and Jang Krohkratoke. He graduated from Great Falls (Mont.) High School in 1995.
Robert served in the United State Army from 1995 – 2000. He joined the Army National Guard in 2006 and served up to his death in 2015.
He married Michele Geiss May 1, 2007, in Conrad, Mont. They moved the Bighorn Basin July 7, 2014.
Robert, a conductor for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed working on classic cars, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
His father, Robert Charles Hylla; his grandfather, Sylvester Hylla; his grandmother, Mary Hylla; and his aunt, Joanne Hylla, preceded Robert in death.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Geiss-Hylla of Greybull; his son, Robert Charles Hylla III of Greybull; three daughters, Breana Hylla of Great Falls, Mont., and Allysia Geiss and Yasmin Hylla, both of Greybull; his mother Jang Krohkratoke of Maryland; two brothers, Wayne Hylla of Oxford, England and Matthew Hylla of New Zealand, and one sister, Jeannie Hylla of Alaska.
