Funeral services for Loretta Jean Porter Norman will be held March 16 in Phoenix. A family graveside service will be held in Otto at a later date. Loretta, 74, died March 1 from complications of a stroke.
She was born Feb. 3, 1941, in Lovell, the oldest of five children of Elwood Myron and Elsie Jean Wheeler Porter.
She married Lewis V. Norman April 2, 1964; the couple was sealed for time and eternity Jan. 8, 1971, at the Salt Lake City Temple.
Loretta worked for over 20 years for the County Sheriff’s Department. She retired in 2004 and moved to Arizona to enjoy the warm weather and be closer to family.
Loretta was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She worked in Primary, Young Women’s and was a Relief Society President in her LDS Ward when the family was living in Riverton.
She loved her family and spent her days serving them.
Her son, Lane Earl Norman; her parents; one brother, Levi E. Porter; and her sister, Olive Belle Porter Lowell, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis V. Norman; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Loren M. and Lisa Norman and Lance P. Norman; one sister, Valeria McNiven; brother and sister-in-law, Wendy and Elwood Porter II; sister-in-law, Camille Porter, and brother-in-law, Ralph Lowell.
