Funeral services for Laurie Laine Crummer Hurly will be held June 19, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Billings. Laurie, 58, died April 4 at her home in Billings, Mont.
She was born March 31, 1957, in Douglas, the daughter of Larry and Elaine Crummer. She received her education in Douglas, attended Chadron State College and graduated from the University of Wyoming.
Laurie married Randy Royal of Basin in 1978 and they resided in Greybull. Their son, Grant Royal, was born in 1985, graduated from Greybull High School in 2003 and spent eight and a half years in the Marines. He is currently attending UCLA in California.
Laurie taught elementary music in Basin for several years, was the director of the Children’s Resource Center in Worland, and went on to become the director of the South Big Horn Senior Center in Greybull.
Laurie moved to Billings where she ran a consulting and grant-writing business. She married Tom Hurly in 2013.
She is survived by her husband Tom Hurly of Billings; her son Grant Royal of Los Angeles; her parents Larry and Elaine Crummer of Douglas; brother and sister-in-law, Montey and Sharie Crummer of Hawaii; sister and brother-in-law, Jack and Deidre Buckner of Colorado; daughter and son-in-law, Wynne and Mike Reed and two grandchildren of Froid, Mont.
