Big Horn County Commissioner Felix Carrizales is on tap to give the opening speech at an open house for the new building on the Big Horn County Fairgrounds. The event will be held Sunday, June 28 at 1 p.m. Commissioner John Hyde suggested Carrizales should be the person to cut the ribbon for the opening too, but a decision has not yet been made, according to Fair Manager Vangi Hackney.

Hackney reported a grant request for $20,000 has been applied for from the Sykes Foundation. She said the money would be used to purchase equipment and other items to be used inside the new building.

The commissioners discussed vendor booths that are still available for rent during fair week including one that is air-conditioned with an outside window for sales. Interested parties should call the Fair Office at 568-2968.
