Cremation has taken place and no services are planned for Marian Louise ”Lou” Jackson, 74, of Jelm, Wyo. Lou died at her home in Jelm July 2.
She was born in Greybull on Nov. 2, 1941, the daughter of Ruby and Bill Wilkinson. She received her education in Greybull, graduated from Greybull High School, and earned her RN degree from Rocky Mountain College in Billings in 1959.
She married Jerome Jackson in Greybull in 1959 and they moved to Laramie where she worked at Ivinson Memorial Hospital on the OB floor until she retired after 25 years. She worked at Bone and Joint for eight years and with home health before she retired to the riverside at Jelm with Jerry Gowdy, her partner of 30 years.
Lou lived her life with compassion and a love for all. She leaves behind many friends.
Her parents, Ruby and Bill Wilkinson, Jerome Jackson, and her daughter, Amy Adkins, preceded her in death.
She is survived by Jerry Gowdy; her son, David Jackson; one daughter, Katie Jackson; sister, Marianne Elvick of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
