Melvin Dean Kuper

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Melvin Dean Kuper will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greybull. Melvin, 85, died Oct. 3 at St. Vincent Health Care Hospital in Billings, Mont.

He was born Aug. 3, 1930, at Marvin, S.D., the son of Harmon and Myrtle Kuper. He was raised and received his schooling in Marvin. He married Carol Solberg on May 21, 1950, at Marvin. The couple had two children, Joel and Robyn.

Melvin was a hardworking man and provided for his family with a caring heart. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture and loved spending time with his family. Later in life he took up skydiving. His wife and family were very important to him.

He was a member of BPOE Lodge 1611 at Cody.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carol.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Wendy Kuper of Greybull; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Todd Stacey of Woodruff, Utah; his siblings: Myra Olsen of North Fort Myers, Fla., Yvonne “Vonnie“ Sager of Omaha, Neb., Marilyn Kuper of Watertown, S.D., and John “Jack” Kuper of The Villages, Fla.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
