Cremation has taken place and a private family day of remembrance for Rose Louise Hoyt Sims will be held at a later date. Rose, 96, died Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody.
Rose was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Denver, the daughter of Louis and Rosa Herbolsheimer Doppelmayr. She was the oldest of their five daughters. She worked for the Teamsters Union and served in the United States Army during World War II. She was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver.
Rose married Edward Roland Hoyt on Nov. 20, 1946. In 1973, the Hoyts moved their ranching operation from the Denver area to Burlington.
Roland died March 1, 1974. She later married Milford A. Sims. They moved to Cody several years go; they enjoyed traveling.
Rose was preceded in death by her two husbands; three children, Don Hoyt, Carol Hoyt Thieman and Betty Hoyt; her son-in-law, James Thieman; her parents and four sisters and their husbands.
Rose is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Martie Hoyt of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Gwen Hoyt Cox of Riverton; sister-in-law, Mary Hoyt Hoover of Canyon, Texas; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
