With the Holidazzle now just a matter of days away, the Greybull Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local shoppers to sign their receipts from local stores and get them submitted in the drawing for some special prizes.
Selena Brown, the executive director of the chamber, said the “For the Love of Local Shopping” promotion is intended to encourage local residents to spend their dollars in their home communities. By doing so, everyone benefits, she said.
The program works this way. First, shop local. Then take the receipt you get for any purchase made at a business in Greybull or Shell between Black Friday and the day of the Holidazzle, sign the back of it and provide your phone number, then either leave it at the store where the purchase was made or drop it off at the chamber office in downtown Greybull. All of the receipts will then be gathered for the drawing, which will occur after the Holidazzle parade. Those whose receipts are drawn will receive prizes, with the grand prize being a grill.
The drawing is just a small part of the big Holidazzle celebration on Friday, Dec. 11.
The 10th annual event will feature a candy cane hunt at the Greybull Public Library starting at 4 p.m., a free chili dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Downtown Auto Clinic, an appearance by Santa and a lighted parade on main street starting at 5:15 p.m.
Local business will be open extended hours for the convenience of holiday shoppers.
