The Antelope Butte Foundation is now the owner of the lodge, chairlifts, maintenance buildings and other man-made infrastructure at the ski area at Antelope Butte, which moving forward will be called the Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area.
The U.S. Forest Service delivered the deed for ownership of all facilities to the Antelope Butte Foundation on Earth Day 2016. Mark Weitz, president of the Antelope Butte Foundation, signed the acceptance of the quitclaim deed for the ski area.
Permitting for construction and restoration should be issued by the forest service in early May, allowing demolition and volunteer work to begin when the snow has melted.

Two summer events are planned at Antelope Butte: The Antelope Butte Summer Festival will be held on July 22-24 while a new event, the Bighorn Mountains Brewfest, is scheduled on Saturday, July 2.
