Glea Hollenbeck Steedley

Funeral services for Glea Steedley of Cody will be held Friday, June 17 at 10 a.m. at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody. Glea, 85, died June 12 at Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody.

Glea was born July 3, 1930, in Jewell County, Kan. The family lived in Kansas until Glea was 15, at which time they moved to Florence, Ariz. Glea met Dick when she was 17; he was 18. They married as soon as she graduated from high school and had been married 62 years when Dick passed away in 2010.

Glea and Dick had two children, a son, Richard G. Steedley of Sundance, and a daughter, Vickie Steedley Kirkhoff of Meeteetse.

Glea had a lot of kids she adopted into her family with open arms – and something to eat. She loved to feed everyone who came through her door. She was a top-of-the-line wife, mother, grandmother and friend and was always there for her family and friends. She had a big heart.

Glea is survived by her son and daughter; eight grandchildren, Kerri Baumgartner, Aimee Binning, Michelle Seeley, Steve Brown of Greybull, Chris Twomey, Neci Anderson, Marcie Steedley and Vince Steedley and nine great-grandchildren.
