Oct. 8, 1923 – June 30, 2016
Marion Theresa Branch, age 92, went to be with Jesus on June 30, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Marion was born October 8, 1923 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Walter and Ellen (Dunbar) Beilstein. She married Delmer Lampton and they had four daughters. They later divorced. She married Vollie Branch in 1971, and they remained together until his death in 1995.
Like many wartime wives, Marion went to work in the 40s for the Bell Telephone Co. She later studied to become a licensed vocational nurse, a profession in which she was proud to be a part of. She continued working until health issues caused her to retire when she was in her 70s.
Marion became very politically aware as an adult and she was a staunch Reagan Conservative. At the same time her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ, was strengthened. She passed these values onto her daughters.
Marion’s family, including her beloved pets, were most important to her. She was always there in whatever capacity for her daughters, who are so grateful to have had her for their mother. She babysat many of her grandkids, who will miss their “Mamoo”. She raised her family in the California San Fernando Valley, where there was laughter, and dancing to Broadway musicals. She and Vollie later moved to Billings, Mont., to be closer to family. After living in Butte, Mont., for several years, she spent the remainder of her days at Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home in Basin, Wyo., to be near her daughter and grandchildren living in Greybull.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Vollie. She is survived by her daughters—Carol Fisher, Billings, Mont., Janet (Lee) Hallsted, Greybull, Wyo., Nancy (Don) Berger, Billings, Mont., Joanne (Gary) Dryden, Butte, Mont., and her step-daughter, Darlene (James) Crosby, Acton, Calif.; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Her family is especially grateful to the staff at Bonnie Bluejacket Nursing Home for the love and care they gave to mom. Interment will follow at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif., per her wishes.
“…Her children will rise up and call her blessed”
Atwood Family Funeral Directors assisted the family with the arrangements.
