Mildred Millie K. Shumway, age 79, of Greybull, Wyo., passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the Billings Health and Rehabilitation Community in Billings, Mont.
A viewing will be held in the Relief Society Room prior to the service on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints between Greybull and Basin, Wyo., with Bishop Jared Welsh presiding. Burial will follow at the Lovell Cemetery in Lovell, Wyo.
Mildred Millie Shumway was born on May 4, 1937, in Circle, Mont., to Emil J. and Emilie (Surovik) Kondelik. Millie grew up in Circle and received her schooling at the Lower Summit School from grades 1 – 8 and graduated from Circle High School in 1955. She continued her education at Eastern Montana College.
On June 4, 1956, Millie married Billy G. Shumway at the Lovell, Wyo., Stake. To this union, four daughters were born: Elma, Ann, Ranae, and Ellie.
Millie’s passion was cooking, baking and canning. She was an avid gardener, and she loved to torment dandelions. Millie enjoyed doing genealogy. She loved music and had a beautiful voice which led her to participate in many choirs. Millie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Millie was a member of the Greybull Ward of the LDS Church, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Emilie Kondelik; two brothers; and three sisters.
Millie is survived by her loving husband, Billy Shumway of Greybull, Wyo.; four daughters, Elma Scheid of Sandy, Utah, Ann Kniepkamp (Randy) of Circle, Mont., Ranae Shumway of Casper, Wyo., and Ellie Ibarra (Ted) of Weiser, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Millie’s name can be sent to Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 471, Greybull, Wyo., with proceeds to go to the Senior Citizens Center in Greybull, Wyo.
