Edith ‘Edi’ Mae Hood

A graveside service for Edith “Edi” Mae Hood was held Nov. 4 at Mount View Cemetery in Basin. Edi, 75, passed away Oct. 31, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Mont.

She was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Raymond Louis and Tressie Alma (Angle) Martin. She graduated from Franklin High School in Stockton, Calif.

Edi married John Stephen Hood on Nov. 15, 1979, in Stockton, Calif.

She moved to Basin in 2005. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, helped with the Poppy Drive and the POW fundraisers and was a member of Eagles Aerie 3086 in Basin.

Edi enjoyed gardening, painting with acrylics, shopping and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband John on April 16, 2009; her parents, Raymond and Tressie Martin; her daughter, Crystal Gardner, two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her son, Clay Allison Gardner of Soledad, Calif.; three granddaughters, Terah Tutor of Sheridan, Danielle Frizzell of Basin and Linda Gardner-Golding of Manteca, Calif.; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
