A memorial service for Colter Mackenzie Knox was held in Washington and a second service will be held in Arizona on Feb. 24. Colter, 30, passed away at his home in Burlington, Wash., Nov. 15, of an asthma attack with his brother Zachary at his side.
Colter was born Nov. 15, 1987, in Billings, Mont. He was raised in Surprise, Ariz. where he graduated from Willow Canyon High School in 2006. He had many friends in Surprise that he loved to hang out and go to concerts with.
He moved to Seattle in 2013 and had worked at Fred Meyer in Burlington, Wash., for the past seven years.
Colter attended Estrella Mtn. College in Arizona and had just heard that he had been accepted at Washington Community College.
He loved his dog Phoebe; his family, hiking and camping in the Cascades in northwest Washington, music and photography (which he shared with dad Guy) and playing disc golf with his brother.
Life will never be the same for those whose lives he touched; he was taken way too soon.
Colter was preceded in death by his beloved grandmothers, Ruthie (Richard Whaley) and Jo (Jolene Whaley).
He is survived by his mom and dad Cynthia (Whaley) and Guy Lanahan of Cody; brother Zachary Knox; and his girlfriend Antoinette Porter, both of Washington.
