Michael Thomas Michaelis, 75, of Puyallup, Wash., passed away peacefully on Feb.15, 2018.
Born on Oct. 30, 1942 in Basin to Henry and Rhea (Phalen) Michaelis, he served in the Army before returning back home to begin his career in the telephone industry.
Bringing his family with him when his work came to Washington, Michael also enjoyed hunting, fishing, writing poetry, woodworking, and being Santa.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra Michaelis; daughters, Pam Belus and Christina O’donnell; son, Tim Gabler; grandchildren Steven, Cole, Torey, Carson, Madison, Logan, Brady and Jace. .
Michael was so many things to so many people. He had the biggest heart in the world and gave his love freely to all.
Michael will be remembered for being 100 percent passionate about everything. He was a jokester, storyteller, a great chef and he was known for always being the first to step up and help his fellow man. He will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
A celebration of his life will take place this summer.
