James “Jim” Blank

April 18, 1937 – Feb. 27, 2018

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, at 1l a.m. at Mount View Cemetery in Basin. Jim, 81, passed away Feb. 27 in Billings, Mont.

He was born April 18, 1937, in Basin, the son of Edward and Ruth Blank. He had two brothers, Harvey and Gary, and two sisters, Martha and Mable.

Jim married Mary Ann Saldana Nov. 3, 1959, in Dillon, S.C.

Jim served in the United States Army for 11 years.

He worked at Big Horn Co-op and AC Supply for many years; he retired in 2000.

In 2014 the Blanks sold their home in Basin and moved to Billings.

Jim loved to hunt, fish, read “Western” books and watch Denver Bronco football games. After moving to Billings he enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart, going out to eat, watching the planes land and take off at the airport – and going to his favorite casino.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary Ann of Billings; five children: Karla Sheeley of Colorado, Jim Blank of Nevada, Teresa Sellars of Montana, Pam Winters of Wyoming; Christopher of Nevada; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to a picnic at Washington Park in Basin following the memorial service.
