Jan. 12, 1996 – July 15, 2018
A celebration of the life of Zane Michael Edeler was held July 20 at the Elk’s Club in Greybull. Zane, 22, passed away July 15 while in the Big Horn Mountains.
Zane was born Jan. 12, 1996, in Lander, the son of Vernon Lee and Cheri Lynn Edeler. He received his education in Greybull and graduated from Greybull High School in 2014. He loved welding and wrestling.
Following his graduation Zane went to work for GK as a heavy-equipment operator. He traveled to Cheyenne and across the U.S. to Maryland for employment. He enjoyed working in the industrial construction industry as a millright and welder in Texas. Zane returned to Wyoming in 2017 where he enjoyed a short career in the oilfield but eventually returned home to work for Gordon Preis and for GK.
Zane was a joy to be around; he made friends easily and kept them forever. Each person in Zane’s life added something unique and special.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the mountains and his friends. He was a Wyoming boy through and through and proud of it. No matter where the road took him, he was always anxious to get back home.
He will be greatly missed but left us with many precious memories.
He is survived by his mother, Cheri Edeler, his father, Vern Edeler; two sisters whom he considered his best friends, Madison Lee and Tatem Jay; his grandparents, Melanie Edeler, Mark Batenhorst and Mike and Cheryle Howe; his great-grandmother, LaWana Rainey and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial fund has been established in Zane’s name at Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, 33 N. 6th St., Greybull, WY 82426.
