GHS announces homecoming royalty

Greybull High School will crown its homecoming king and queen at halftime of Friday afternoon’s game against Pinedale.

Queen candidates include Scotlyn Flitner, Tatem Edeler and Kendall Wright.

Ralph Petty, Dade Greene and Tucker Nelson will vie for the title of king.

This year’s attendants are freshmen Madalynn Long and Connor Reed; sophomores Kylin Stephens and Noah Zeller, and juniors America Araiza and Felipe Gaytan.

The hallways have been decorated and floats are under construction as homecoming activity starts to ramp up at GHS.

Three dress-up days have already been observed: Color Wars on Monday, Disney Day on Tuesday and Decades Day on Wednesday.  Today (Thursday, Sept. 20) is Frat Boy Day and Friday, Sept. 21 is Blue & Gold Day.

Today’s activities include homecoming volleyball matches with Riverside at 4, 5 and 6 p.m., followed by the traditional Burning of the G.

Friday begins with the Buff Olympics starting at 8 a.m. followed by a pep assembly at 9:30 a.m.

Parade entries can start lining up around 10:15 a.m.

The parade starts at 10:45 a.m., and after students have disassembled the floats and hallways, they will be treated to a lunch on the outdoor basketball courts, courtesy of the Greybull Booster Club.

The Greybull-Pinedale game will kick off at 4 p.m.

Big Horn Federal is sponsoring a free tailgate party for fans at halftime.

The week ends with the annual homecoming dance from 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.
