Kay Ann Lopp

May 10, 1966 – Feb. 17, 2019

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of the life of Kay Ann Lopp of Basin will be held May 18. Kay, 52, passed away at her home in Basin after a long battle with Lupus.

She was born May 10, 1966, in Billings, Mont., the daughter of Thomas and Marsha Low Nitchman. She had three brothers, two foster brothers and a foster sister. Not long ago she found her half-sister Susan Lehmkuhl, whom she had been searching for most of her life.

Kay married Michael Joseph Lopp on Oct. 7, 1990, in Manderson.

Kay was the most selfless person you would ever meet; she always put everyone else first. Raising her daughter, Melanie and watching her graduate from high school was the highlight of Kay’s life; she dearly loved her two grandsons, Troy Lopp and Roman Lopp Dirks.

Kay was preceded in death by her father Thomas Nitchman; son Travis; infant daughter Danielle and two brothers, John Nitchman and Mick Roberts.

She is survived by her husband Michael Lopp; her daughter Melanie Lopp; mother Marsha Nitchman; three brothers and their spouses, Jim and Marcy Nitchman, Ray and Maray Nitchman, Keith and Doris Roberts; one sister, Mary Laabs and two grandsons.

  1. I understand how you must feel to lose your mother, sister, friend in death. It is so wonderful to know that there is a hope for your love one.
