Jan. 9, 2020 Issue

Greetings from the Greybull Standard, where we’re giddy with excitement about the first home boys and girls basketball games of the season tonight against Burlington. The JV games start at 4 p.m., the varsity girls at 5:30 and the varsity boys at 7. Let’s pack the stands.

Oh, and we put out another paper this week, too. It’s on newsstands now and available electronically, for those of you who subscribe. Here’s what you’ll find:

  • We march in 2020, sharing stories about the upcoming census and their hiring efforts right here in Big Horn County, the mayor’s thoughts on the new year, as well as those of our state senator, RJ Kost. We’ll also set the stage for a busy election year.
  • The Werbelow family just keeps churning out great football players. We’ll introduce you to the latest standout.
  • The pilot whose helicopter crashed recently in Hawaii used to live in Greybull and fly for Hawkins & Powers.
  • Another Greybull shooter has advanced to the Elks Hoop Shoot’s state competition.
  • And lastly, we’ll get you set for a busy weekend of sporting events in Greybull.
