The judges for the 21st annual Greybull Alliance Church Men’s Pie Bake-off contest went with Jerry Patrick’s caramel apple pie, as the best in the adult division. In the 21 years of the contest, this recipe has received the top honor three times. Patrick is from Burlington.
Elliott Robertson of Greybull won the “taste test” in the junior division with his banana cream pie, which has earned accolades from the judges before.
Sixteen pies were entered in the men’s division and four in the junior division.
This contest has become a favorite at CMA. Rules must be strictly adhered to. Everything from scratch. Pie crusts, filling, cream toppings. Nothing store-bought. And  men and boys alike must go it alone — no help from wife or mom.
The contest is also a favorite of judges, who have a “tasteful” time deciding on the winners.
