Ron and Elaine Huff and their son Tony are the winners of this year’s Greybull Area Chamber of Commerce holiday home lighting contest.
The Huffs, who live at 424 S. Third St., won it two years ago and were third last year. This year they added a few displays, including Winnie the Pooh and Tigger on a see-saw and Santa and an elf in a car, and it was enough to earn them the $75 top prize.
“It’s a team effort — we all pitch in and get it done,” Elaine said.
The Huffs began going all-out with their Christmas decorations about five years ago. It usually takes them “a couple of days” to get it all set up.
“Christmas is my favorite holiday, and a lot of people over the last five years have told me their kids enjoy seeing what I have out there and what I add every year,” she said. “If it brightens their Christmas, it brightens mine.”
Second place ($50) in the holiday light contest went to Pat Shepard, who lives at 948 N. Seventh St., while third ($25) went to the Jerry and Wendy Patrick home at 436 Eighth Ave. N.
Four homes earned honorable mention and a turkeys donated by Ron’s Food Farm:
• Amos Howe, 542 N. Fourth St.
• Paul and Claudine Murdoch, 232 Sixth Ave. N.
• Tony Terry, 417 Sixth Ave. S.
• John French, 332 Fourth Ave. S.
