Ernest Henry Olbricht

Funeral services for Ernest Henry Olbricht, formerly of Emblem, will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Assembly of God Church. Ernest, 89, died due to a cardiac episode Feb. 23, 2010, at his home in Corvallis, Ore.
Ernest was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Glen, Neb., the son of the late Minna Martha (Rhoda) and Frank Joseph Olbricht, Sr. He was the youngest of four siblings. On February 4, 1941, in Bridger, Mont., he married Erma Werbelow, and from that union they had seven children.
Ernie was born in Glen, Neb., and at the age of 14 he left home and went to live in Casper with his aunt and uncle. Then he moved to Emblem where he owned a general store and was the butcher; along with driving a school bus and building houses in Wyoming. He left Emblem in 1960 and moved to San Jose, Calif., to build houses. In 1976 he moved to Hamilton.
He was a great cook and he liked cooking and eating. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going for drives. Ernie loved visiting with family and friends. Ernie was a carpenter by trade, but he had many skills and he was self taught. He will always be remembered for his kindness and “squeezes,” and he was always there to help a friend in need.
Those that knew Ernie will recall his incredible mind and memory.
Ernie was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister Henrietta K. See and son-in-law Dick Galli.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry (Gail) Olbricht of Hamilton, daughter Marilyn (Ron) Bianco of San Jose, Calif.; son Darrel (Diane) Olbricht of Hamilton; daughter Linda Galli of Hamilton; son Raymond Olbricht; daughter Nancy (Rich) Barone both of San Jose, Calif.; and daughter Anita (Rick) Davies of Hamilton; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and brother Bill and Frank, Jr.
A reception with fellowship will follow the service at the Assembly of God Church. The interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.
