Greybull FFA earns awards at state convention

Greybull High School's FFA chapter received a Silver Chapter Award and several members earned individual and team awards at the State FFA Convention held April 19-22 in Cheyenne.

Among the highlights, Kinley Hunt and Mackenzie Klitzke earned state FFA degrees.

Two Agriscience Fair finalists won gold medals.  Tyler Searfoss, in Animal Systems Division 5, and Riley Thomas, in Environmental Services/Natural Resource Systems Division 5, could potentially represent the state at the National FFA Convention.

Ashtyn Chapman and Mataia Henderson won a silver in Social Science, Shayne Cheatham and Corrie VanderPloeg earned a bronze in Plant Systems, and Mackenzie Klitzke and Kinley Hunt earned a bronze in Food Products and Processing Systems.

Proficiency Award finalists included Searfoss, gold in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management; Cannon Cook, gold in Swine Production Placement; Klitzke, silver in Sheep Placement, and Hunt, bronze in Small Animal Care.

Chapter members credited everyone who helped them prepare for state convention, including Will Dalin, Morgan Flitner, Dan VanderPloeg, Joe Forcella and Mike and Jan Hanser.
