Funeral services for Harriett Louise Edwards will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Emblem. Harriett, 88, died Nov. 22 in Cody.
She was born July 22, 1924, in Greybull, the daughter of Arthur Leslie Bird, son of a Maine sea captain, and Anna Laura Andersen, a Danish immigrant.
Harriett graduated from Greybull High School in 1942 and worked as a telephone operator until she married W.B. “Billy” Edwards Nov. 13, 1943, in Billings. They made their home on the Edwards family farm at Emblem after Billy returned from service in World War II.
She was active in the Zion Lutheran Church and the Emblem Community Club.
Her parents, her husband, her twin brother Harry Lester and brother Everett Bird and sisters, Alice Bird Stilphen, Helen Bird Lynn and Ruth Bird Walters preceded her in death.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Carole Edwards of Denver, Dan and Kathy Edwards Kinchen of Loveland, Colo., Richard and Connie Edwards of Battleground, Wash., Jeannie Cook of Cody and David and Chris Edwards of Emblem; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Emblem cemetery.
