Funeral services for Oliver William Peterson will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel in Burlington. Oliver, 80, died Nov. 2 at the New Horizon Care Center in Lovell.
Oliver, the son of Oliver and Hannah Peterson of Burlington, was born Oct. 4, 1935, at the home of his aunt, Alda Godfrey, who lived near Cowley. He was raised on the farm/ranch his grandfather homesteaded south of Burlington. He farmed and ranched most of his life.
He also spent years as a ditch rider for both Emblem and Burlington, worked in the old fields as a roughneck and then as a driller. He retired as a Wyoming State Water Commissioner.
Oliver was preceded in death by his wife June “Edna” Peterson, his parents, and a daughter, Kelly Kay Peterson.
He is survived by seven children, 31 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
He will be interred at the Burlington cemetery.
