Graveside services for former Greybull resident Marcella Anna Herrin will be held Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Donald J. Ruhl Memorial Cemetery. Marcella, 97, died Nov. 23, in Newberg, Ore.
Marcella was born Sept. 29, 1918, in St. Paul, Minn. She married Daniel Herrin Oct. 12, 1940. They raised four children. At the time of Dan’s death in 2013, they were the longest married couple in the state of Wyoming (73 years).
For the past two years, Marcella had been living with her son-in-law and daughter, LeRoy and Julie Nollette in Sherwood, Ore.
She was an avid reader, sometimes reading as long as five hours a day. Her motto was: “It’s a great life if you don’t weaken.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; son, Charles Herrin; daughter, Ellen Herrin; brother, Al Johnson and her sister, Lillian Schultz.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, LeRoy and Julie Nollette in Oregon; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Becky Herrin of Basin; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local food bank.
