A team of majors all-stars from the South Big Horn Little League captured three wins in four starts last week at an interleague tournament in Powell and Lovell.
AFter pool play wins over the Powell Cubs on June 10 and the Powell Orioles on June 11, the Bandits proceeded to knock off the Lovell Reds, 13-3 on June 12 before stumbling against the Lovell Rockies, 12-4, in one of the semifinal games played June 13.

Two South Big Horn Little League teams picked up their first wins of the season Thursday evening at the Art Schutte Sports Complex.
The bleachers were packed for much of the evening as the Bandits’ majors’ and minors’ teams hosted doubleheaders against clubs from Thermopolis.
On the minors’ side, the Kustom LLC team got the breakthrough it was looking for, rolling to a 10-4 victory.  It was their first win of the season. Jesse Reber sparked the offense with a home run.

Days of ‘49 second stop on summer rodeo circuit

The history of rodeos in the area goes way back, but the summer long competition that ties them all together and incentivizes cowboys and cowgirls to compete for year-end honors is still a relatively new concept.
The Big Horn Basin Rodeo Circuit launched about a decade ago and Greybull’s Days of ‘49 has been a stop on the summer tour since that its very first year.

A 7-3 win over Otto on Tuesday, May 21 sent Greybull’s Big Horn Federal majors team into the Memorial Day weekend with a 3-3 record.
The team of 11- and 12-year olds consists of Katie Bertolini, Noah Blakley, Marshall Brown, Colt Collingwood, Brendyn DeShazer, Tanner Dunlap, Jayden Fielding, Irving Gallegos, Kayson Herebia, Wyatt Kunkel, Jack Olmstead, Giana Rodriguez, Xiomara Rodriguez and Will Winkler.

Injuries have tested his resolve, but Braxton Patterson of Greybull remains committed to his goal of becoming a world champion bull rider.
The 17-year-old son of Brett and Bridgett Patterson, who has suffered a broken arm, a broken femur and three concussions, will get the chance of a lifetime later this summer when he competes at the Wrangler Youth Bull Rider World Finals in Abilene, Texas.
