David Gilmore

Raymond David “Digger” Gilmore, age 67, of Faywood, New Mexico, passed away in El Paso Texas on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, of heart-related health complications.
David was born May 31, 1956, to parents Raymond and Ida Gilmore and spent his childhood in Greybull, Wyo., with his parents and siblings. He was known as “Digger” to his oilfield buddies and “Dave,” David, or Raymond to his family, friends, and neighbors. David spent his life working with his hands as an oilfield roughneck, a logger, and an auto mechanic. He had a love for country music, animals to care for, and his garden of homegrown vegetables and fruits. David was a skilled mechanic, helping neighbors and earning a living wherever he went by using that skill.
David was preceded in death by his father Raymond, his brothers Ronald, John, and Mike, and his son, David.
He is survived by his mother, Ida Gilmore of Queen Creek, Ariz.; his sister, Maria Martens of Queen Creek, Ariz.; eight children: daughter Sheri Deon of Idaho, daughter Tina McCormick of Colorado, son Joshua Harris, daughter Christie Gilmore, son Ronald Gilmore, daughter Shaleese Conway, son Justin Gilmore, and son Cody Gilmore, all of Arizona. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren.
Throughout his life, David was very supportive of his community, always ready to lend a helping hand to others. David will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
