Jane Dellos
March 7, 1960 - May 24, 2023
Jane Dellos passed away on May 24, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband Ken Dellos of Greybull, Wyo.; her three children Selah Renner of Townsend, Mont., Jacob Hernandez of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and Aliza King of Rigby, Idaho, as well as her five grandchildren.
Jane was born March 7, 1960, to Cornelius O’Brien Johnson and Mary Viola Brigner. She was born and raised in Escondido, Calif., and was the youngest of five children. She always expressed fond memories of working with her father in construction as a 17-year-old. As a 19-year-old, she worked for the Forest Service as a “token female” doing trail maintenance. In the early '90s, she began working in the medical field as a medical assistant. After this, she volunteered as a bird rehabilitator for Fish and Game for five years. She then became a bird breeder and at one point, had 131 birds. She named her business Lady Jane’s Feathered Friends. When she moved, her love for helping birds followed her everywhere she went. First Idaho, then Montana and finally Wyoming.
Jane married Ken Dellos on Dec. 27, 2018. Once in Greybull, Jane enjoyed being a semi-truck driver for Aguilar as well as a school bus driver. Together Jane and Ken enjoyed driving through the mountains, fishing, hunting, camping and boating on the reservoirs. Along with her love of birds, Jane loved gardening, canning and hosting her friends for dinner. Jane loved her children and faithfully prayed for them every day. Jane was a caretaker to her friends, her family, and her animals even to the very end.
When she was 6 or 7, Jane was given a children’s Bible and God led her to Philippians 1:6, which says, “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Jane loved gospel music and singing at church, which began early on when she would sing with her father. Even when Jane lost her ability to speak, she began to bring a flag to church as a way to participate in worship. Her friends and family remember her love for reading the Bible and ability to quote scripture. Jane was known for saying “get close to Jesus” to everyone she encountered.
Jane’s memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Basin on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
