Marilyn J. Patterson

Marilyn J. Patterson, 84, formerly of Greybull, passed away Thursday, May 2 at a nursing home/ long-term care facility in Kingsville, Ohio.
Marilyn was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Douglas Wyo, a daughter of Merlin and Margaret “Nanny” (Miller) Crawford Wilson.
She moved with her family in 1949 to Greybull, where she attended school and graduated from Greybull High School in 1957.
She married Robert G. Patterson Oct. 19, 1957, in Greybull and had three sons. Marilyn had many interests throughout her life.  She balanced running a business with raising a family of athletes while supporting Bob’s volunteer firefighting. Her hobbies included reading, knitting and crocheting and traveling to casinos. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook.  She was owner/operator and head cook in a small café attached to the KOA, M.J.’s Café.
In 1978, Bob and Marilyn became owners/operators of the Greybull KOA and ran it for over 30 years until their retirement.  She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Harold Wilson, husband Bob, brothers Jim and Jerry Crawford, nephew Lee Crawford and half-brother Kieth Crawford.
She is survived by sons Paul R. (Mischelle) of Greybull, Wyo., Jeffrey C. of Casper, Wyo., and Thomas G. (Jody) of Ashtabula, Ohio; eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren, half-brothers Randy and Tim Crawford, sister-in-law Mary Crawford of Coleman, Okla., brother-in-law Bill Meagher of Plummer, Idaho, and several nieces and nephews. All will miss her very much.
A celebration of life will be held privately by the family at a later date. Anyone wishing to honor Marilyn’s memory may send a donation to Greybull Fire Department, Greybull Public Library or the charity of one’s choice.
