Rebel middle school thinclads fifth in Greybull

The Riverside Middle School track and field squad opened up the 2021 season at the Greybull Invitational Saturday.

The Lady Rebels placed fourth with a team score of 120 points, 12.5 points be hind Rocky and 15 points ahead of Greybull.

The Rebel boys placed sixth with a team score of 78.5 points, 9.5 points behind Meeteetse and 10.5 points ahead of Greybull.

The combined team placed fifth with 198.5 points. Burlington won the meet with 385 points. In individual results, Lady Rebel Vinaya Vanderploeg won the eighth- grade girls 100-meter dash, coming in at 13.9 seconds, the eighth-grade girls 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 29.46 seconds and the

100-meter hurdles, coming in at 17.74 seconds.

The eighth-grade girls 400-meter relay team won the event with a time of 56.42 seconds.

Lady Rebel seventh-grader Gracie Buck won the seventh-grade girls 100-meter dash, coming in at 14.43 seconds, the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 30.58 seconds, and the long jump, leaping 13-4.

Lady Rebel hurdler won the seventh-grade girls 100-meter hurdles, coming in at 19.58 seconds.

In the boys division, Riverside seventh-grader Loomis Alexander won the high jump, clearing 4-9, and seventh-grader Andrew Sawyer won the shot

put, throwing 26-5.

The Rebel thinclads are scheduled to travel to the Lovell Invitational Saturday with events sched- uled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
