With two weeks of basketball practice under their collective belts, the Greybull Lady Buffs are ready for the games to begin. That happens this weekend when the Buffs head to Wright for the opening round of the Coal Miner’s Classic tournament that traditionally kicks off the season.
Coach Jeff Hunt said, “I’m excited about this group. They are working hard and they are showing improvement every day.”
The group of 19 athletes who have been getting in shape while honing their skills include 15 returnees, including nine with varsity experience. Hunt has three returning starters in Mataia Henderson, Chaise Benasky and Kennedy Craft.
“Our goal is to move the ball a little better this season and look to get more points in the paint,” Hunt said. According to Hunt the Buffs are one of the “better-sized teams” in 2A this year. “I’m positive that will help us a bunch.”
