Eleven schools sent students on Greybull last Wednesday for the Big Horn Basin Knowledge Bowl.
The competition featured four rounds of oral questions along with a written round, with 18 teams in the mix.
Lovell captured first place this year, tallying 130 points, followed by Burlington I with 127, Cody with 109, Burlington II with 106 and Greybull and Thermopolis, in a fifth-place tie with 105 points.
“That’s been our highest placing finish for Greybull this year, only five points away from third place,” said Jonathan Cauffman, the team’s coach. Greybull I consisted of Iris Gard, Gabe VanderPloeg, Bradin Ewen, CJ Fink, Gatlin Gorskin, and Devlan Hoflund,
Greybull II, consisting of Jordan Wensky, Steele Davis, Payton Hoffman, Cash Hoflund, Tawny Bertolini and Leonard Marsh, finished further back with 61 points.
