After solid finishes to the regular season, Greybull Middle School’s A and B teams have momentum at their backs heading into this weekend’s conference tournaments. The A team will be heading to the eight-grade tournament in Burlington while the B team stays home to host the seventh-grade tournament.
Cadance Wipplinger, who coaches the A team, expects her team to get a No. 4 seed, behind Rocky Mountain, Burlington and Shoshoni. As of Tuesday afternoon, the tournament bracket had not been released.
Wipplinger said her team posted wins over Riverside and Ten Sleep in the regular season’s final week.
When asked to assess the field, Wipplinger said Rocky Mountain and Burlington are the team’s to beat. Her team owns a victory over the Grizzlies, but to be fair, two of their best players didn’t suit up for that one.
The A team knows it can play with Shoshoni, as both regular season games went down to the wire.
