Constance “Connie” Tweddle Collingwood

Constance “Connie” Tweddle Collingwood, age 94, died at Malley Transitional Care Center in Thornton, Colo. on August 2, 2026.
Connie was born Sept. 4, 1931, on the 91 Ranch, west of Meeteetse, Wyo. Connie was preceded in death by her father John J. (Jack) Tweddle, mother Ruth DeSomber Tweddle, and two brothers William and Robert Tweddle.
Connie grew up in Greybull, Wyo. and graduated from Greybull High School in 1949. She married Riley Arthur “Bud” Collingwood on July 10, 1951. Bud enlisted in the Air Force in 1950 during the Korean War. When he left for Okinawa in August 1951, Connie stayed in Greybull until his return in 1953. Upon return to the States, Bud was stationed at George A.F. Base in Victorville, Calif. They lived there until his discharge in 1954. While in California, Connie worked at the Bank of America and upon their return to Greybull, Connie worked at the First National Bank for many years; advancing from teller and bookkeeping to the bank’s finance auditor.
Connie especially enjoyed her family and traveling, boating, fishing, camping and playing pinochle with Bud and family friends. After Bud passed away on May 21, 2004, Connie excelled at many intricate crafts. She was especially well known for her rope baskets made from used lariats that she sold locally and through the Harden Museum in Montana. Connie also enjoyed many match sticks projects including the Taj Mahal, Notre-dame Cathedral and the 6’ long London Bridge. Connie was an avid reader and also participated in some of Greybull’s fundraisers such as the decorated chair projects.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Lynne (“Michael”) Blackburn, her sons: Scott (Ronna) Collingwood, and Rod (Lori) Collingwood, two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be planned for a later date.
