Apple pie bakers, chili cooks wanted for upcoming event

 Basin Heritage Initiative (BHI) is looking for apple pie bakers for the BHI Great Apple Pie Bakeoff on Sept. 28. 

BHI will provide the apples picked last week at Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site and pie tins. Organizers hope the pie bakers will be willing to be partnered with a youth teammate. The hope is to build a connection across generations.  The pies will be voted on and auctioned Sept. 28 at the Basin City Arts Center starting at 6 p.m. 

Master chili makers are sought for that day as well for the first Chili Cook Off hosted by BHI. 

Proceeds from the pies and chili dinner will benefit the Basin Area Food Bank. 

Tickets for the chili/pie fundraiser are $10 per individual or $25 for family of four. 

Tickets may be purchased at the South Big Horn Senior Center, SBHC Water District in Basin or the Basin Republican Rustler.
