Four Buffs land on all-state team

The Wyoming Coaches Association released its all-state team for the Class 1A nine-man classification on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Four Greybull Buffs made the list after powering their team to nine straight wins and a berth in the semifinals. The honorees included seniors C.J. Fink, Caiden Sorenson and Caden Hunt and junior Bennett Sanford. Sorenson was a repeat selection, also earning the honor in 2024.

State champion Pine Bluffs led the way with eight all-staters, including repeat selection Carsten Freeberg and first timers Eli Currie, Gabe Federer, Cade Fornstrom, Cameron Jessen, Colby Lerwick, Joey Mohren and Ty Scarborough.

Runner-up Rocky Mountain was next with six: Tayt Beall, Triffen Jolley, Mason Moss, Landon Pruett, Juan Rodriguez and Masen Twomey. Beal and Jolley were repeat selections.

The remaining all-state spots went to Zavier Clifford, Cale Dauwen and Zef Zuniga of Big Piney;  Anthony Arnusch, Colt Brown, Colter McFarlin and Lincoln Speckner of Lingle-Ft. Laramie; Raynce Brott and Cody Himes of Lusk; Griffin Bartlett, Burris Berger and Hazen Williams of Saratoga; Oakley Hick, Caden Kisling and Carson Kisling of Shoshoni; TJ Moats of Southeast; Mitchell Strohschein of Wright and Jeffrey Rushing of Wind River.

Freeberg, of Pine Bluffs, was the offensive player of the year while Jolley, of Rocky Mountain, won the honor on the defensive side.  The WCA also recognized a special teams player of the year, Arnush of Lingle-Fort Laramie; a lineman of the year, Zuniga of Big Piney, and a coaching staff of the year, which went to Saratoga.
