GHS Speech takes second at Worland Beach Invite

The Greybull High School speech team tested its mettle against 22 schools at the Worland Beach Invitational last weekend, finishing second in a 1A/2A sweepstakes indicative of future state competition.
“The Worland meet was almost a practice run for state with the 1A/2A programs, as all but two were competing,” said coach Joel Kuper. Only 10 Greybull members competed at the meet, but Kuper said his team “brought their best for the event…amidst some very tough competition.”
“We had to have some breakthroughs and the students found the right time to have a great effort.”
Tyler Searfoss was the team’s top placer. He took fourth in Congressional Debate after a grueling run through three chamber rounds and two final rounds.
“This was a great effort from Tyler. He has been battling some of the same students in Congressional Debate for the past few weeks and finally managed to make the top four,” Kuper said.
