Jeff Troxel Trio to perform in Basin Saturday
Wyoming guitarist Jeff Troxel returns to Basin City Arts Center Saturday, Feb. 15 7-8:30 p.m., with a trio of the region’s finest musicians to play jazz and pop standards.
An award-winning composer and former national flatpicking guitar champion, Jeff’s songs and recordings have been featured on several public television shows and his many guitar books published by Mel Bay are distributed around the world. Jeff is a graduate of Northwest College, Berklee College of Music, and the University of Southern California, and is currently a professor of music at Northwest College (NWC).
Joining Jeff for this concert are Dr. Zach Paris (drums) and Mike Leslie (bass).
Paris is the director of Instrument Music and Percussion at NWC and is a native Wyomingite. A graduate of Northwest College, University of Wyoming, University of Nebraska, and Arizona State University, Zach is one of the most sought-after musicians in the region.
Leslie is a Billings, Mont., native who spent most of his music career in New York City, where he worked with such names as Carol King, Johnny Winter, Rufus Wainwright, Steven Stills, Meryl Streep, Peter Yarrow. Mike moved back to Billings during the pandemic and has established himself as the first-call bassist throughout the region.
This outstanding trio of musicians will present a concert of original compositions and innovative arrangements of jazz and pop standards.
Tickets are available at the door. The cost is $15 for a single adult, $25 for an adult couple, $10 for a student (grades six through 12) and $15 for a student couple. Kids up to fifth grade get in free.
