Local students competed in the Unified Sports Competitions on Feb. 8 as part of the Wyoming Area 1 Special Olympics at Antelope Butte. Student athletes competed in disabled skiing, wherein students with disabilities are matched with a unified partner (a non-disabled peer from their school), and ski together. The unified partners ski solo in the same events as the athletes, then have their times combined to achieve a final score to determine placement.
