Open for two hours (3:30-5:30 p.m.) after school Monday through Thursday and three hours (1-4 p.m.) after school Friday for grades 5-12.

Open Friday and Saturday nights, 7 to 10 p.m., for middle and high school students only.

Senior class reigns over Spirit Week

Kelsie McColloch and Jesus Rodriguez were announced as this year’s homecoming queen and king prior to Saturday afternoon’s varsity volleyball match against Wind River.

The senior class collected the most spirit points during the week, which featured a “Caribbean Cowbuffs” theme.  The seniors took top honors in dress-up day participation, lunch-time activities, the Buff Olympics, the hall/locker decorating contest and float building.

Second place went to the juniors, who claimed wins in Buff Puff volleyball and in Powder Puff football, where they teamed up with the freshmen.

The sophomores placed third in spirt points, followed in fourth by the freshmen.

At the Oct. 4 Big Horn County Fair Board meeting, the board voted to sponsor a logo contest.  The desire for a new logo has been a discussion for some time.

Cliftons celebrate 72nd anniversary

It was on a beautiful day, Aug. 19, 1951, when Roy James Clifton, Jr. and Delores “Dee” Bratton joined hands and exchanged wedding vows in a ceremony held at the Episcopal Church in Sheridan.

The couple had met on a blind date, set up by a friend of Dee’s. “We probably went to a movie,” she recalled.

They were attracted to each other—“He was good looking for one thing,” Dee said with a laugh—and shared a lot of the same interests, but it wasn’t an immediate take. When they started “serious” dating, Dee had to be reminded by a friend what the young man’s first name was. She was attending college in Colorado, and Jim, who knew he was being drafted, jumped the gun and joined the Air Force. He was home on leave when they married in 1951.

Davidson completes purchase of Greybull Dental

Dr. Samuel Davidson spent Monday becoming acclimated to his new surroundings at Greybull Dental.

The Burlington native and 2010 BHS graduate closed on his purchase of the practice on Friday. He took over for Dr. Tate Anderson, who announced on the business's Facebook page that he had accepted a position as a dentist at another location.

K-Bar Motel renovators undeterred by challenges

We pick up the story where that one ended, talking about the circumstances that brought Amanda and Kyle together and their vision to make the motel profitable and an asset to the community.)

TCT celebrates fiber success, brings UW athletes to town

Greybull area residents mingled with some of their favorite University of Wyoming basketball players, indulged in Yoder donuts and pizza from Up in Smoke and siezed opportunities to learn more about and sign up on the spot for faster, more reliable internet service during a pop-up celebration hosted by TCT on Saturday.

Man driving tractor for Parkinson’s awareness

Mike Adkinson and his famous John Deere tractor chugged down main street last Monday as part of Adkinson’s 2023 Tractor Trip for Parkinson’s, a six-week journey he’s undertaken to raise money and awareness about Parkinson’s Disease (PD).

Adkinson, a 77-year-old retiree from Bellingham, Wash., turned the chore of delivering a tractor to his brother-in-law into an awareness campaign after his brother was diagnosed with PD in 2021. 

“It’s just so hard to deal with because it’s not like dementia where you’re losing your faculties in terms of thinking. Parkinson’s people are really with it; their bodies are just failing. 

“My brother lost use of his legs and he’s got tremors so bad he can’t feed himself. So consequently, that’s embarrassing and then people don’t go out, so they get isolated, and that only makes it worse.”
